Under the Patronage of Minister of Health Dr. Mai Alkaila Witness Center and Nablus Municipality Inaugurate Free Medical Week

Today, Saturday, the Witness Center for Citizen Rights and Community Development, in collaboration with the Nablus Municipality, inaugurated the activities of the Free Medical Week at the Danish Park in the city. This initiative aims to provide medical services to residents of the Old City and various neighborhoods.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Nablus, Engineer Samih Tbeileh, the Director of the Ministry of Health in Nablus Governorate, Dr. Ramez Dwaikat, municipal council members Adly Yaish, Samah Kharouf, and Mohammed Al-Shannar, in addition to the Vice Chairman of Witness Center’s Board of Directors, Saad Joudeh, along with a host of prominent figures and community representatives from the governorate.

Tbeileh expressed his pleasure that this event is the first he inaugurates after assuming his duties as the Mayor of Nablus. He praised the efforts of the organizing and partnering institutions for this significant event, which plays a crucial role in providing medical services to marginalized and needy citizens in the Old City and various neighborhoods.

Tbeileh confirmed the municipality’s readiness to continue its strong partnership with the Witness Center and to provide all possible support to encourage such positive initiatives in the city.

The CEO of Witness Center, Kayed Me’ary, stated that this event is the result of two years of voluntary work by pioneering youth groups in Nablus Governorate, in collaboration with the International Medical Cooperation Committee (IMCC) and funded by the Danish Youth Council (DUF). Me’ary emphasized the center’s ongoing support for these initiatives, thanking the Nablus Municipality and all partners who contributed significantly to the success of this event.

In this context, the Director of Health in Nablus Governorate, Dr. Ramez Dwaikat, emphasized the Palestinian government’s and the Ministry of Health’s commitment to providing full support for innovative youth initiatives. He stressed the importance of solidarity and integration between the ministry and Palestinian civil society components to enhance the health sector in the country and Nablus Governorate.

The Free Medical Week will continue until next Friday, welcoming citizens from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The week features specialized medical clinics, continuous screenings, and cultural and awareness activities, according to a schedule published on the Witness Center’s official social media page.

This event is organized under the patronage of the Palestinian Minister of Health, Dr. Mai Alkaila, in partnership with the Nablus Municipality, the Physicians’ Syndicate, the Medical Laboratory Technologists Syndicate, the Dentists’ Syndicate, An-Najah National University Hospital, Al-Hakim Medical Complex, the Palestinian Red Crescent, the Military Medical Services, MedCare Laboratories, the Palestinian Medical Relief Society, An-Najah National University, Al-Quds Open University, Darin Medical Center, the Specialized Arab Hospital, Health Work Committees, Nablus Medical Laboratory Complex, the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (Nablus branch), and the United Nursing Family Association.
