Witness Center and Higher Council for Youth and Sports Sign Cooperation Agreement to Strengthen Collaboration in the Youth Sector

The Witness Center for Citizen Rights and Community Development and the Higher Council for Youth and Sports signed a Memorandum of Understanding under the project “Palestinian Social Cohesion Academy – Empowering Young and Women Leaders through Youth Labs and Elected Administrative Bodies of the National Youth Council in the Northern West Bank Governorates,” funded by the Finnish Representative Office in Ramallah and implemented by the Witness Center.

The agreement aims to strengthen partnership and develop areas of joint cooperation in a way that serves young people and supports their active participation in society.

The signing ceremony was held in the presence of Lieutenant General Jibril Rajoub, President of the Higher Council for Youth and Sports, Secretary-General of the Council Minister Issam Al-Qadoumi, as well as members of the Witness Center and Higher Council for Youth and Sports teams.

Minister Issam Al-Qadoumi, Secretary-General of the Higher Council for Youth and Sports, said that the agreement represents an important step toward strengthening cooperation with civil society organizations and expanding partnerships aimed at serving Palestinian youth. He stressed the importance of coordinating efforts among national institutions to develop programs and initiatives that respond to young people’s needs and strengthen their role in society.

He added that the Council places great importance on the youth sector and, through partnerships and cooperation with various institutions, seeks to create more opportunities for young people to participate and express their potential and capabilities.

This step was coordinated and supported by the elected National Youth Council, which contributed to strengthening cooperation between the Higher Council for Youth and Sports and the Witness Center, with the aim of supporting the work of local and sub-local youth bodies in the governorates.

The Witness Center affirmed that this partnership reflects its commitment to building effective cooperation with national institutions, strengthening their role in addressing youth issues and rights, and providing greater opportunities for young people to participate in community and development activities, recognizing them as key partners in development and shaping the future.

The agreement comes within the framework of the two parties’ commitment to expanding cooperation in the youth sector and pooling efforts and resources to implement joint programs and initiatives that respond to young people’s needs, develop their capacities, and enhance their community participation.

The agreement also seeks to develop and implement high-quality activities and programs in the youth sector, exchange expertise and knowledge, and make use of the available resources and capacities of both parties. This will strengthen institutional cooperation and create opportunities for initiatives that support and empower young people, marking a further step toward strengthening partnerships among national institutions working in the youth sector and contributing to the development of more effective and sustainable programs.
