Witness Center and Muhammadiyah Association Organize Training on Conflict Resolution and Intercultural Dialogue in Qalqilya

The Witness Center for Citizen Rights and Social Development, in cooperation with the Muhammadiyah Association – Indonesia and with the support of Lazismu, organized a youth training session targeting 20 young men and women from the city of Qalqilya, Palestine. in Al Quds Open University – Qalqilya

The session was opened by Mr. Ahmad Jarousha, Executive Director of the Witness Center, who emphasized the constructive and ongoing cooperation between the Center and Muhammadiyah in promoting a culture of dialogue and peacebuilding in Palestinian society. He also highlighted the Center’s key programs and achievements since its establishment eleven years ago.

The training addressed several key themes, most notably: intercultural dialogue, capacity building, and conflict resolution. Trainer Mohammad Obeisi led the session focusing on understanding the nature of conflict, methods for analyzing it, and approaches to resolving it, as well as intercultural dialogue and the challenges youth face in this area.

Representatives from the Muhammadiyah Association joined the session via Zoom, as they were unable to travel to Palestine due to the current circumstances. In her remarks, A\Professor Yayah, representing Muhammadiyah, stressed the importance of conflict management and resolution, particularly in light of the challenges faced by youth. She praised the efforts of the Witness Center and its team, expressing hope to participate in future sessions in person.
