The Impact of October 7 on Hamas: Structure and Vision

Witness Center for Citizen Rights and Social Development organized a virtual seminar via Zoom to discuss the impacts of the events of October 7 on Hamas in terms of structure and vision, with the participation of a group of researchers and specialists in Palestinian and political affairs.

The seminar addressed the military operation carried out by the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades on October 7, 2023, and its impact on the organizational structure of Hamas and its political vision. The expected repercussions of this operation were highlighted, along with discussing the future scenarios that the movement may face in light of the successive changes.

  • Organizational Structure: Researchers indicated that Hamas might face significant challenges in maintaining a cohesive organizational structure amid increasing military and political pressures.
  • Political Vision: The adaptation of Hamas to changing political conditions and its efforts to maintain the identity of the movement and continue armed struggle as a primary tool for liberation were discussed.
