Witness Center and Watan Institute Hold Consultative Meeting on the Palestinian Response to Trump’s Plan

The Witness Center for Citizenship Rights and Social Development and the Watan Institute for Media Research and Future Studies held a consultative meeting on Thursday as part of a series of national consultations discussing the next phase and the future of the Palestinian cause.

The meeting, held at the Watan Institute in Ramallah, brought together a distinguished group of politicians, writers, representatives of Palestinian civil society organizations, and factions. The discussion focused on U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan for the Palestinian issue, examining its implications for the future of the Palestinian cause and the necessary Palestinian response.

Participants explored what is required from the Palestinian side amid the current sensitive circumstances and how to leverage the global wave of solidarity with the Palestinian people to advance Palestinian rights and the establishment of an independent state.

The discussions also addressed the need to achieve national unity and end the long-standing division, which continues to burden both the Palestinian people and their national cause.

The meeting concluded with several recommendations, most notably the emphasis on the establishment of a Palestinian state as an essential condition in any proposed plan or initiative. Additional recommendations will be refined and submitted to Palestinian political decision-makers.

Finally, participants agreed to continue holding regular dialogue and consultation sessions to keep pace with the critical political developments facing the Palestinian issue.
