Ramadan Relief Initiative to Support Displaced and Vulnerable Families in Palestine
The Witness Center for Citizen Rights and Community Development concluded its “Ramadan Relief initiative”, implemented with funding from Lazismu and in cooperation with the Muhammadiyah Association in Indonesia, to support displaced and vulnerable families across several Palestinian areas through the distribution of food parcels and iftar meals during the holy month of Ramadan.
Wide Reach Across the West Bank and Gaza Strip
The initiative covered Tulkarm Camp, Jenin Camp, and Al-Ein Camp east of Nablus, in addition to the Al-Mawasi area in the Gaza Strip, as well as cancer patients from Gaza currently residing in the West Bank. More than 850 displaced and vulnerable families benefited from this campaign amid difficult living conditions.
Strengthening Resilience and Expanding Humanitarian Support
The Witness Center emphasized that such initiatives aim to strengthen citizens’ resilience and provide their minimum basic needs, stressing the importance of sustaining these efforts in light of the ongoing economic and humanitarian challenges faced by Palestinians in both the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
The Center also noted that, despite their limited scope, these humanitarian efforts serve as a lifeline for many families, calling for increased relief support to address growing needs.
In Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps, food parcels were distributed to families living under harsh conditions and relying almost entirely on humanitarian aid. Displaced families in the northern West Bank have suffered from a lack of income sources and limited job opportunities since their displacement began in 2024.

Field Testimonies Highlight the Scale of Need
Mohammad Al-Khatib, a member of the Tulkarm Camp Emergency Committee, stated that around 3,200 families have been displaced from the camp for more than 14 months. He pointed to ongoing efforts to support their resilience despite limited resources and a deteriorating economic situation.
Similarly, aid was distributed to cancer patients from Gaza stranded in Asira Al-Shamaliya. Umm Rajab expressed her gratitude for the support, which helps cover part of her essential needs, while Abu Sobhi highlighted the importance of the assistance provided by the Witness Center since the beginning of the crisis.
Intensive Relief Efforts in Jenin
In Jenin Governorate, iftar meals and food parcels were distributed in partnership with “Filastinuna – Nidaa Al-Hayat” Association through the Nissan Ramadan Takiya, which provides approximately 3,000 meals daily to displaced people amid worsening living conditions and increasing humanitarian needs.
Salah Al-Din Mansour, speaking to the Witness Center, stressed the urgent need at this stage and expressed his appreciation for the Center and its partners, especially as the Nissan Takiya continues for the sixth consecutive year.
Food Parcels and Suhoor in Al-Ein Camp
In Al-Ein Camp east of Nablus, the Center distributed food parcels and provided suhoor meals to residents, in a step aimed at strengthening social solidarity and supporting community resilience.
Gaza: Ongoing Food Shortages and Humanitarian Crisis
In the Gaza Strip, the distribution of food parcels and iftar meals continued in the Al-Mawasi area, where residents still face severe food shortages and difficulty accessing basic supplies due to harsh living conditions that have worsened following the war.
